What can be done in Ann Arbor when you happen to be there in June during our mid year meeting? Lots of things!!!

If you have some spare time and you are a nature lover maybe you will want to check out the Arboretum which is 123 acres of nature trail and gardens. There’s also the opportunity to go kayaking down the Huron River. Don’t forget to check out some river tours if you have the chance!

Or you can climb Burton Memorial Tower located on the main campus. Awesome!  There are a lot of things to offer in Ann Arbor especially in June when the weather is wonderful. You can even take a stroll and see Ann Arbor’s historic buildings. There are several churches and famous houses to see such as the Anson Brown Building which is the oldest commercial building. Or check out the Bennett Kempf House which was built by postmaster Henry Bennett in the 1800’s.

Getting around in Ann Arbor is a breeze – there are several excellent options. Getting into town from the Detroit airport is made easy thanks to AirRide.

AirRide is a bus service that offers 12 round trips daily to Detroit Metro Airport. They drop-off / pick-up at three Ann Arbor locations.  The Blake Transit Center location is a half mile from the meeting hotel. The cost is $12 one-way or $22 round-trip if you reserve your ticket in advance. Check the AirRide schedule and make reservations at MyAirRide.com.

For those staying at the Campus Inn, you will be centrally located in downtown Ann Arbor, a very walkable city. For those looking to venture further out of the city, there are other options besides traditional taxi’s or rental cars.

Operated by the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority, ‘The Ride’ is a top-notch public transit system, offering over 1500 stops. Fare is $1.50. Visit TheRide.org for more information.

Zipcar is a national car-sharing service that allows you to reserve and rent cars by the hour or day. Cars are located all around Ann Arbor. Zipcar members can reserve cars online then swipe their card at the vehicle to unlock doors. Gas and insurance are included. See Zipcar map for locations.

There’s plenty to do and see in Ann Arbor and you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to get out and see and do!!! Can’t wait to see you there!
