The Legendary Cafe Du Monde

When it’s time for a sugar/caffeine fix, head to Café Du Monde. The Original Café Du Monde Coffee Stand was established in 1862 in the New Orleans French Market. Today, it is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This traditional coffee shop serves dark roasted Coffee and Chicory, Beignets, White and Chocolate Milk and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Their legendary beignets are served three at a time. These square pieces of fried dough are generously covered with powdered sugar. Personally, I suggest eating them standing up to prevent wearing the powdered sugar the rest of the day. I also suggest you bring a friend as Café Du Monde is in high demand and it’s more fun to wait in line with someone you know!
