Neuro-Ophthalmology For The Ophthalmic Photographers and Ophthalmic Technicians

Speaker:  Dr. John Pula

The ophthalmic assistant should be able to recognize and assist with special testing involving patients with neuro-ophthalmologic conditions. This may include fundus photos, optical coherence tomography, and visual fields. Some of the neuro-ophthalmologic diseases which may present for special testing include afferent visual disturbances such as optic neuritis, papilledema, drusen, neuroretinitis, ischemic optic neuropathy, and optic disc atrophy. This talk will focus on the neuro-ophthalmologic conditions which may be encountered by the ophthalmic assistant.
