On Different Wavelengths: The Spectrum of Retinal Imaging

This course will discuss scanning laser ophthalmoscopes (SLO) and fundus cameras for monochromatic imaging, angiography, and fundus auto-fluorescence. Differences between fundus camera techniques and the SLO will be presented. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to describe the principles of fluorescence and monochromatic illuminations, list commonly used wavelengths for retinal imaging, and describe their effect on visualization of fundus structures.
