Board of Certification Recruiting CRA & OCT-C Advisors

On behalf of the Board of Certification and as Chair of the Advisor Committee, I would like to ask all current CRA’s and OCT-C’s to consider participating in the CRA/OCT-C Advisor Program. It is both a personally rewarding and gratifying experience.

The job of the advisor is to help guide the applicant through the process of certifying and provide general information when questions arise as to the best sources for information or as a critical eye regarding portfolio content. An advisor’s role is not to teach but more to give encouragement and support. Now that the performance element has been eliminated from CRA certification the expanded examination and portfolio elements will have even more importance. In this environment you will be a source of important moral support for applicants who have doubts about their ability to achieve CRA status under the new format.

Because of the emergence of OCT as a clinical tool, OCT certification has expanded creating a real need for advisors for this category as well.

Please e-mail or message me on the OPS forum and let me know your interest level in taking on the role of advisor and helping our CRA /OCT-C family to grow. The BOC and I greatly appreciate all who are willing to devote a small amount of their time to advance the goals of the OPS and share their experience with our CRA and OCT-C applicants.

Sincerely,
Michael Bono CRA, COT
