ICOP 2017 Speaker Highlights

We are honored to have the following speakers present at ICOP

Keynote lecturers:

Tien Yin Wong, MD, PhD: “A Fundus Photograph Could Save Your Life”; Professor Wong is the Medical Director of Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore; also Academic Chair of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at the Duke National University Singapore and Vice Dean of the Office of Clinical Sciences.  His sub-specialty is Medical Retina.

Suber Huang, MD, MBA:  “The ASRS Image Bank”;   Dr. Huang is the CEO and Founder of the Retina Center of Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, USA;  also past President of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, ASRS. He is the founder of the ASRS Retinal Image Bank, and current chair of the Retina Vitreous section for the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology.  His sub-specialty is Retina.

Giovanni Staurenghi, MD: “OCT Angiography”; Dr. Staurenghi is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Chair of the University Eye Clinic, University of Milan, Milan, Italy; also Director of the University Eye Clinic Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciente “Luigi Sacco” at Luigi Sacco Hospital, Milan.  His sub-specialty is Retina with interest in different types of imaging and treatment.

Gavin Tan, MD: “Optical Coherence Angiography: Changing the Way We See”; Dr. Tan is a Vitreo-Retina Consultant at Singapore National Eye Centre, and a Visiting Consultant at Changi General Hospital, Singapore.  His specialty is General Ophthalmology/Cataract Surgery with a sub-specialty in Vitreo-Retinal surgery.


Invited Speakers:

Sjakon Tahija, MD: “Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy”; Dr. Tahija is the Founder and Medical Director of Klinik Mata Nusantara, Jakarta, Indonesia.  His specialty is Vitreo-Retina.

Jamie Craig, MD:  “The Genetics of Anterior Segment Disorders”; Dr. Craig is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Flinders University Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia.  His specialties are Adult Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, and the genetics of ocular diseases.

Lim Tock Han, MD: “Multi-modal Imaging for the Diagnosis and Treatment of PCV”; Dr. Lim is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the National Health Group, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore; and immediate past Director of the NHG Eye Institute, Singapore. His specialty is Vitreo-Retina.

Quan V Hoang, MD, PhD: “Pathologic Myopia”; Dr. Hoang is Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Columbia University Medical Center, New York City, USA; also an Ophthalmology Consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore.  He has a PhD is Neuroscience.  His specialty is Retina.

Akbar Shakoor, MD: “Multi-modal Imaging for Uveitis; Dr Shakoor is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology,   John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.  His specialties are Vitreo-Retina and Uveitis.

Marcus Ang, MD: “Introduction to OCT Angiography for the Anterior Chamber”; Dr. Ang is an Ophthalmology Consultant at the Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore; also Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Duke National University Singapore.  His specialties are Cornea and Refractive Surgery.

Daniel Ting, MD, PhD: “Cloud-based Automated Software for Diabetic Retinopathy Screening and Monitoring - a National Program”; Dr. Ting is an Associate Consultant in Ophthalmology, Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore; also collaborating on developing artificial intelligence software for OCT with the National University Singapore School of Computing.  His specialty is Retina

Anna Tan, MD: “Clinical Applications of Multicolor Imaging”; Dr. Tan is an Ophthalmology Consultant, Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore.  Her specialty is Retina.

Haslina Hamzah: Programme Manager, Singapore Advanced Imaging Laboratory on Ocular Reading (SAILOR), Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore

Timothy J. Bennett, CRA, OCT-C, FOPS: “An Historical View of Ophthalmic Imaging”, “Ophthalmic Jeopardy, Asia-Pacific Version”; Mr. Bennett is the Manager of the Opthalmic Imaging department, Milton S. Hershey Eye Center, Penn State Hershey Eye Center, Hershey, PA, USA.

Paula F. Morris, CRA, FOPS: “A Short History of ICOP – How We Have Grown, and Where We Are Headed”; Ms Morris is an Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist, Clinical Trials Research, John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah.  

Sarah Moyer Armstrong, CRA, OCT-C, FOPS:”A Short History of ICOP”; Ms Armstrong is the Manager of Ophthalmic Imaging, Kittner Eye Center, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, USA.
