Membership in the Ophthalmic Photographers' Society is open to anyone having an interest in any aspect of photography of the eye. Our membership is comprised of photographers, physicians, ophthalmic technicians, and scientists.

The OPS is the premier educational and training organization for ophthalmic imaging, serving ophthalmic technical personnel, photographers, physicians, and technicians alike. The OPS is the only organization providing certifications in the fields of fundus and OCT imaging. With over 1,100 members from 27 countries, we are the oldest established society in the world dedicated to ophthalmic imaging.
Imagers Mentoring Imagers
Imaging technology continues to evolve at a rapid pace. The OPS sponsors regional, national, and international educational programs that provide the most comprehensive and diverse training for ophthalmic imagers available. A hallmark of the society is its emphasis on education and mentoring – imagers learning skills from other imagers. Networking with other imaging professionals leads to new insights and career development.
Education and Certification
Beyond the traditional photographic standards, OPS educational programs specialize in state-of-the-art instruction on new imaging systems and techniques, image interpretation, patient care, and electronic communication. Producing, preserving, and reproducing high quality documentary and diagnostic images requires up-to date expertise, performed by knowledgeable professionals, and OPS educational programs are geared to that end.

After submitting the application and payment, you will receive an email confirming your membersip. You will receive the credit card receipt by email. If you prefer to pay by check, you may click on the membership application link below and print out the application for mailing to the membership office.

The annual membership fee of $90.00 includes:
The Journal of Ophthalmic Photography (JOP). Published twice yearly by the OPS, with occasional topic specific supplements, this peer-reviewed journal is dedicated to ophthalmic diagnostic imaging. In addition to the print version of the journal, OPS Members can access the online JOP here when logged in to the OPS website.
The OPS Newsletter. The OPS Newsletter is published electronically four times per year and keeps members informed of upcoming meetings, special events, certification news, employment opportunities, and short articles of interest to ophthalmic photographers. Members are notified via email when a new issue is published, with a direct link to the new edition.
The OPS E-mail List. Limited to OPS members, this email list informs our members of Society news, educational programs and other pertinent announcements from the OPS and our corporate partners.
OPS Member Directory. OPS members can network with other members through the OPS website and the online member directory.
Discounts. OPS members benefit from reduced Certified Retinal Angiographer and OCT-C program application fees, and reduced registration fees for OPS Midyear Educational Programs as well as our partnering online educational website, ACTIONed.
If you are not an OPS member and would like to join, select the "Join OPS” link located at the upper right hand side of this page (above the gray Sign In box). You will be asked to select a member type, create your Username, and enter your contact information as you would like it to appear in the online directory and submit your payment information. Once the membership fee has been paid, you will receive email notification that your appplication has been approved. If you choose not to provide a credit card number at this time, you may print out the membership application (pdf) listed below and mail a check to the OPS Membership Office.
If you are currently an OPS member and would like to renew your membership, sign in to your profile page and select "Membership Info”. You may also make personal contact corrections directly on your profile page. Membership in the OPS is renewed annually from the date the membership is accepted. A renewal notice is emailed to the member 60 days prior to the membership expiration date and may be renewed by signing in to the member’s profile on the OPS website anytime prior to the expiration date.
