Your Toronto Stay - ICOP 2014

VENUE

The venue for ICOP 2014 is the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s College.  Lectures will take place in the Sam Sorbara Auditorium located on the second floor of Brennan Hall.  Refreshments and vendor exhibits will be located in the Coop on the first floor of Brennan Hall.  St Michael’s College is described as a "secret oasis in the heart of downtown Toronto.”

Light breakfast, refreshments and vendor exhibits will be located in the Coop on the first floor of Brennan Hall.  An All-You-Can-Eat Buffet serves vegan, vegetarian, halal, gluten-free options at multiple food stations.  Dining takes place in the beautiful Canada Room.


GETTING THERE

Easton Chelsea Hotel is 1.2 km from Brennan Hall at St. Michael's College.  Below are the best methods to get there:  

  • Walking:  Estimated time- 15 minutes.  Click here for a map.
  • Bus:  Estimated time- 11 minutes; Cost- $3/each way
  • Taxi:  Estimated time- 5 minutes; Cost- $6.45 - 10.00/each way

SCOTIABANK CONTACT PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL

ICOP is being held at the same time as Toronto’s famous Scotiabank CONTACT photography festival.  Scotiabank CONTACT is the largest photography event in the world, and a premiere cultural event in Canada, capturing an audience of 1.8 million people. CONTACT is an annual event that takes place in Toronto during the entire month of May.

THE CAMPBELL HOUSE: AFTER ICOP SPECIAL EVENT

The timing couldn't be better! A stereo-exhibition just after ICOP in association with Scotiabank CONTACT photography festival.

The Campbell House has agreed to extend the gallery hours beyond their usual 4:30pm closing on May 3, 2014 specifically to accommodate ICOP conference attendees. ALL ICOP ATTENDEES ARE INVITED TO ATTEND THIS EXHIBIT! Entrance fee only $5.00 Canadian, with a minimum of 10 ICOP visitors. Grab old and new friends and visit Campbell House for this special exhibition.

Campbell house is located at OSGOODE Subway Station, just 3 subway stops south from St Michael's College and Museum Subway station on the University Subway line. It is located at the beginning of the Toronto Queen Street social scene.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The official ICOP hotel is Eaton Chelsea, Toronto. Reservations can be made either online or by phone. For reservations by phone, call the Reservations Department at 1-800-243-5732 (toll free for North America only) or 416-595-1975. Callers must identify themselves as being with the Group Ophthalmic Photographers Society. The hotel may evaluate on a case by case basis the best rate possible.
