You know what they say? "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Well, it will be up to you what stays in Las Vegas, but you will only be able to bring home treasured memories of inspiring lectures, professional networking, hands-on workshops with the latest "toys" if you join us for the Annual Program. We'll be located at the Flamingo on Las Vegas Boulevard.
On November 13, our four-day OPS Annual Program will kick off with all our favorite topics and several new speakers. The Board of Education always tries to improve upon our past programs and things are no different this year. Instead of the previous three full days and two partial days, we will go full steam ahead with educational opportunities from 8:30am to late afternoon/evening Friday to Monday. We will even make sure that you do not miss out on anything by providing breakfast and lunch everyday. This treat will be included in your registration fee.
We hope to see you for our social event during the Welcome Reception on Friday evening. Spend a few hours visiting with fellow imagers and make new friends. You will also be able to feast your eyes on this year's winners of the OPS Annual Scientific Exhibit. Start getting your images ready now to submit to the competition. If you like to take pictures on your own time, submit them for the "Personal Photography Night" and show everyone what you like to capture with your non-eyeball camera.
On Friday, after a full day of lectures, the afternoon will again feature the Scientific Session with papers from the OPS membership. If you have never given a talk but are considering it, this venue is a great way to start. Be on the lookout for the submission notice coming later in the year, but put on your thinking hats now.
On Saturday, we will offer a selection of lectures and workshops and complete the day with the popular Don Gass Keynote Speaker. This year's Education Chair, James Soque, CRA, COA has invited Jay Duker, MD. He will talk about "OCT-Past, Present and Future".
Here is a sneak-peek at some of the new titles for this year's program:
- Gass Style Fluorescein Conference
- Advancements in Ocular Imaging 2015: Keys to Ocular Tumor Evaluation
- The Best of the Best
- Fundus FAF Imaging - Combination Lecture and Workshop
- Pattern Recognition in Ophthalmic Imaging
- Ultrasound Symposium - All Day
- In Your Face: En Face OCT and the Vitreoretinal Interface
- Masters SD-OCT- Beyond The Macula
- Transitioning to Research Imager
- Digital Imaging in Micro Perimetry for Clinical Research
- Ontario Telemedicine Network
By attending this full program, you might have a hard time visiting the exhibit floor to see the latest technology. To ensure you will not miss out, for the second year we will invite all our Vendors to participate in the "Vendor Forum" during the lunch hour of Saturday and Sunday. Get out your "passport" and after collecting a sticker from each vendor, you might just win something if you are lucky. It is Las Vegas after all!
Speaking of Las Vegas, we all know that there is plenty to do after hours. This is a city that never sleeps and the biggest challenge might be for you to get enough sleep during your visit. Thankfully, you don't even have to step outside of the OPS hotel for entertainment. The Flamingo features the highly popular Margaritaville and Donny and Marie Osmond have been there for the last 8 years.
So, please start working on getting to the Flamingo in Las Vegas for the Annual Program this November. See you there!
