To subscribe to a forum, login to the website and navigate to the group page. Click on Forums, then click on General Discussion.

To receive email alerts whenever a new topic is posted, click the hyperlink next to the green check mark that says "Subscribe to Instant Updates". The check mark will change to a red circle/white 'X' and you'll be subscribed to the forum. This will send you an email alert every time a new topic is started.

Then if you want to receive email notification of new posts to that topic, you'll also need to set alerts for replies to that specific topic by clicking the Subscribe to Instant Updates hyperlink for every new topic that you want to follow.
