Hopefully the wide knowledge base of photographers here can provide some insight/direction.

When taking fundus images recently the pupil adjustment knob on our Topcon TRC-50x became stuck. It now only selects S or FP. N is no longer able to be selected. The knob will turn a little past the S mark but not more than a quarter of the distance required to reach N.

Paul,
If it is the front most knob adjustment, on the lower left side, you may have to take the left cover off to see the problem.
There are reducers inside there that are mechanical, and one of them, may have slipped out of it's holder and is preventing full rotation to the different pupil sizes.
Hope this helps.
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the fantastically quick response, you hit the nail on the head with your answer. I took off the lamp cover which allowed me to see that the forward mechanism had slipped. I didn't take before pictures, but I took some after pictures and a short video showing the normal function and pointing out where the pieces had been, I'll try to get those added in here tonight.
