Our chief nurse has sent me on a quest... and I know this group will have a lot of answers.

Now that fluorescein comes in the bottles with the rubberized tops (and not the glass ampules), do folks still use filtered needles when drawing up the dye??

Filtered needle or not... what do you prefer?

Thanks!

It never hurts to filter the dye, but I use filtered or unfiltered depending on what the office stocks. I don't require they only have filtered needles, but I do recommend them. Unless the dye precipitates before use, which I haven't seen in years, the filter shouldn't matter.
Alan
