I need assistance so I can respond to an inquiry I recently received. Please let me know how to respond to this inquiry.

Thanks,

Barb McCalley

"I just bought a beam spliter and a camera adapter to use in my slit lamp.
But I am no satisfied with the quality of my pictures. The amount of light coming from the eye is very small. I am using a very high ISO (3200) and a Shutter of 1/30. I use only the slit lamp light.
Do I have to use an accessory light?"

Thank you

A big issue could come from the ISO, if the camera doesn't have a good quality sensor it might not hit past ISO 1600 without losing quality.

It also depends on what kind of file they're making, a JPG will have less information than a Raw file and will be less recoverable if the exposure it's spot-on.

What aperture is being used?

Also, are they using any kind of ring flash or anything to illuminate the image, or just the light from the slit lamp? Is the bulb old or new, what kind is it, and what power is the slit lamp set to for photography (50% of max, 100% of max, etc)
