If you could buy any fundus camera for traditional fundus imaging where high quality clinical trial colour imaging is more important than black and white, what camera would you buy for your clinic?

What do people think of the Zeiss FF450 with the Canon EOS 5D MarkIII camera back?

Consider the whole package- good quality images, software ease of use, robust system etc.

I love my Escalon software. I just recently bought three more systems. All for cameras that we either had in storage or as a replacement for a system that I already had. One was to replace the dual back 6MP cameras from the MRP days. I loved that system but it couldn't be ungraded to Windows 7, and if anything happened to one of the backs, I was on my own. Of course I use it with an FF4 from yesteryear and couldn't be happier with my results.

I would love to see a camera that allowed for a 5DS R back. You can change from being full frame to being APSC (it's a internal software based force crop technique), it's not anti-aliased so you remove the digital averaging of pixels that all anti-aliased systems give. Then also have it be a full spectrum camera. Doing that would make it so you could shoot IR, and in a system like the older topcons where you had a spot to manually place a filter, you could put any filter you needed to act as a barrier to let only one wavelength of light through, or a small range of light through. Since SF6 and C3F8 are very particular to wavelengths of light penetrating them effectively this could make it so a fundus camera could more easily view the retina through them.

Also, for me, it'd still have to be a canon body, I'm not a fan of the nikon software, no offense, just personal preference.

I'd also like whatever software was being used to allow me to still have full control of the DSLR on the back, I'm fighting with a CF-1 that keeps pushing the ISO back to 800, which makes it so the images are too bright and they turn red. If I could keep it to 200 or 400 I could adjust the brightness of the flash rather than having it be overpowered while still being at its lowest setting.
