Karin,

I don't work in a pediatric clinic but I have had to do Optos photos on an infant before. Thankfully they were very cooperative for an infant. I just held him/her in my arms with his/her head in my head and used the other hand to help open the lid and hit the trigger. Or you can have mom/dad hold the baby and that way you can have both hands free to help gently adjust the baby's head and help with retracting lids. It is certainly not my favorite way to image an infant. I would much rather be in the OR with a Retcam and also thankfully that is how I have images the majority of the infants that I have imaged. I mostly a adult patient imager.

It is not very easy to capture an FA on an infant on the Optos. If you have access, I would use a Retcam in the OR.
