<description><![CDATA[<p>My doc wanted me to get some thoughts and opinions on using expired fluorescein. Unfortunately we have quite a bit of dye that has expired. He believes that it may impact the quality of the FA but should be ok to use on the patient. What are your thoughts? I know what mine are.</p>

I wouldn't use it, but I don't think it wouldn't adversely affect either the quality of the FA or be unsafe for the patient because I don't use expired drugs on patients. Now I personally use expired medications at home all the time on myself.]]></description>

In a clinical setting, if you introduce an expired pharmaceutical in to a patient and that patient has an adverse reaction that causes permanent damage or death, your consent form no longer absolves you of any responsibility because you knowingly used an expired injectable.  ]]></description>
