Has anyone ever heard of, or done themselves, some kind of ophthalmic photography consulting program? Basically, like a traveling trainer for practices to bring in for x amount of time to teach staff on x number of cameras/imaging procedures?

I've been bouncing the idea around in my head and I'm curious if anyone has heard of this and if they think something like this could be successful. On the one hand, just about every ophthalmic practice has a few cameras and rotating staff that could use some in depth instruction on. On the other, some places just don't quite see the value in staff that can do something quickly and with high quality ie: the "good enough" mentality, not knowing what your camera/people are capable of.

Let me know what y'all think!

I worked with JMC Eye Photo for 25 years. For it's time, the premier in office training and regional meeting training across the USA for fundus/angiography. Have had my own company, EyeTeachU and EyeEducateU for 20 years. I hear what you are saying- there is still a HUGE need for in office training. I did training for VF, all forms of imaging, and ultrasound as I said for 20 years. I would be happy to speak with you off line of my experiences. Now retired after a 45 year career.

Denice Barsness, CRA, COMT, ROUB, CDOS, FOPS
415-710-6719
