Is anyone using anterior segment OCT to evaluate the AC in uveitis for early signs of cell/flare?...or to evaluate the AC in the presence of corneal edema that prevents visualization through it?

Mike- We aren't using AS-OCT to look for cell and flare, but I used AS-OCT for other reasons and have seen it. I imagine you could do this. As far as checking out the AC when there's corneal edema, it is still an OCT technology so anterior thickness will block posterior pathology. I'd give it a try though to see if the edema is strong enough to block this. Let us know how it turns out. Post a picture or two!

Mike,

We have looked at some uveitis patients with the Visante, and my opinion is that I see more on the UBM than the OCT. I do look forward to using the spectral domain OCTs to see if they pick up more of the cells, but have not had a patient to try it on...
