Have you seen the latest edition of the OPS newsletter? This issue is packed with 23 pages of news and info including short features on OPS members Joe Territo and John Gerty - two very unique and interesting individuals. I've known John Gerty for years but didn't know he was a fellow paddler and actually is yet another OPS woodworker (he's made his own kayaks & canoes out of wood). I can think of several other OPS paddlers: Peter Hay, Beth Ann Benetz, Libba Affel, Allen Katz, myself... maybe we should have put paddling in as a category in the interest group survey!

You can also get to know Connie Gottlieb, CRA, OCT-C through her experiences at the annual meeting in Orlando by reading her new blog entry. Our blogs also allow comments so feel free to jump in and comment on some of the fun & goofy photos in her blog.

Check out these features on the OPS website and get to know your colleagues a little better!

Hi Alexis,

Barb McCalley is the "master" of us all - and that means she is the master of the "master membership list"! (I couldn't resist).

In the past she has sent out bulk emails to every dues paid member to announce when the latest newsletter has been posted- but members must have either provided the email address in their member profile, or specially contacted Barb to share that address.

Now that we are truly electronic, members are missing out if they HAVEN'T given their email to Barb at our central office because they are not getting the benefits of participating on our website - including access to our newsletter and all the great features Tim mentioned.

If you know of OPS members who have not yet established their profiles and joined our website, why not help them figure out how to do so and show them around!

Best to everyone,

Well said Paula... and good question Alexis.

Paula is absolutely correct that our new membership software relies heavily on members supplying an email address to access all the benefits of membership. If you haven't supplied an email address to the central office, you are missing out on things.

We'll be sending periodic email blasts to the OPS membership with announcements of important programs, deadlines, & features, etc. We'll also announce when new issues of the newsletter are released. Typically, email blasts to the OPS membership will say "OPS Member Communication" in the subject line, so you'll know to look for them.

Be on the lookout for less formal announcements (like this thread about the newsletter) here in the member forum and on the OPS Facebook page.
