I am working on a project that requires BMP files to be exported from both the Cirrus and Heidelberg OCTs. I know that I can export them individually, but as I would like to take an entire cube of data, this is very time consuming. Does anybody know if I can do a bulk BMP export on a cube of data on either of these systems?

Thanks!

Sarah

It can be done on the Spectralis. In the Lightbox view, right click on the cube you want to export and you should get the option to export as picture. Choose the BMP option click OK/Save and then all the slices should be exported.

Thanks Jim! I didn't think about doing it from the lightbox. Since you seem to know some tricks... do you know how I can export it with just the OCT data instead and not include the IR image? I know I can set up a batch in photoshop to crop this if necessary....

Hi Sarah!

Not sure if this thread is still active (as you posted back in March) or whether or not you figured
out an answer. If you're just looking to export the images corresponding with each B-scan slice from a volume scan in Spectralis, one workaround is to use the "Export as XML" function, which outputs an XML file (containing all the subject/time/date/numeric/etc information), a fundus image per volume scan that you select, and one image for each B-scan section. If you just want the B-scan images, you can delete the other files (XML, fundus images).

If you need additional directions on how to 'activate' this function in Heidelberg Eye Explorer, please feel free to get in touch.

Of course, something to keep in mind--unlike the "Export as Picture" function that was referenced in a previous post above, sadly, there won't be any sort of subject/date/time-identifying information on the images from the "Export as XML". Thus, this might affect the portability of the images.

Best,

Alex Ho
