Hey All!

It's time for the Midyear Meeting, and hoping that all of you are as enthusiastic as I am about attending!

If you are still on the fence, now is the time to make your plans.

There are two great Inns/Hotels that we have access too. They are both within 1-3 miles of the
venue at the Biomedical Research Building at UNC, where our meetings are being held. Their rates are
competitive, as are their ammenities. Details are on our OPS link as to their locations:
The Carolina Inn
and Aloft.

http://www.opsweb.org/?page=MidyearProgram

The vendors are coming out in full force, and we are certain that you will enjoy their displays, as
well as the most recent software versions from many that are attending. This is the time to look at
that upgrade, or get all of your technical questions answered, on the spot!

However, if you haven't see the line up of speakers, this should be enough to make you buy that
plane, train ticket, or pack up the car on the 8th, and start heading to Chapel Hill, NC.

Dr Cohen, Dr Baldwin and Dr Garg, are all outstanding speakers. Denise coming all the way from the west coast and President Morris from Utah, and Ethan, all the way from Isreal to be with us.
Plus, Kirsten coming up from Dallas, and of course the renowned Johnny Justice Jr to speak to us on the Development of Angiography.

These lectures are meant to educate, enlighten, and keep us all informed as to the world encompassing profession we refer to as 'digital imaging' in ophthalmology, I often think of them as a once in a lifetime opportunity, and they shouldn't be passed up.

As for me, I'm packing my bags, jumping on "Two Wheels - No Door" and making the 625 mile
trek down to support Sarah and Mike and to enjoy some good ole' North Carolina hospitality...
Oh, and Tim's Home-Brewing Reception ~ of course.

Then, there is the CRA Certification exam. Rich Cornwell, is in need of Examiners/Raters for the CRA Practical, being given on Friday starting at 3 pm. So, all you CRA's who are arriving on Friday right around noon time, who would like to help with the examination (and receive a BOC credit for scoring), you should get in touch with Rich Cornwell at e; oct.c.portfolio@gmail.com and offer to lend some support. Rich, Allen, and BethAnn already know that they can count on me to be there.

Now for the other. I'm happened to be very unfamilliar as to locations to stay between Alexandreia, VA, and Richmond, VA during my trip down to Chapel Hill.
I'll be mostly on 95 South until after Richmond, and could use some helpful advice on where I might find some cheap-diggs for my run down, and possibly, back as well. If you are familiar with this area, and can give me a clue, contact me off-list at jsoque@hotmail.com and, I would really appreciate it.

For those of you going ~ See You There!

For those of you On.The.Fence ~ We hope you make it there !

Best Regards All,

Jim

Hey Jim,

So nice to hear your run down of the delights awaiting us in Chapel Hill at the Mid-year meeting! This truly is an exciting meeting in every way!

Can't wait to get there! Flying over 7 states to get there, but well worth the long ride!

You be safe on that "two wheels, no door" contraption! Trust YOUR driving/riding, just don't trust all the unsafe, distracted, "I own the road" drivers aiming at you!

Safe travel to all,
