For anyone that is new to public speaking, giving a talk at the Scientific Session at the Annual OPS Program is a good way to start. Each talk is only 10 minutes and anything photography/imaging and/or ophthalmology related is game. That is what I did many years ago.

Do you have a special trick for getting that picture of the photophobic patient or the 5 year old kid? How about your method of cleaning the lens or converting that old slit lamp to digital. If you really thing about it, I'm sure you have something worth sharing with other photographers.

Submitting your abstract is easy. Just look under "Education" and the "Annual Program" and you will find the form and in no time step 1 will be complete.

Kirsten
BOE, Chair

Kirsten has a good point. The Scientific Session is a GREAT way to start presenting talks. Not only are you just one of a number of speakers but you only speak for 10 minutes. That means a shorter talk to organize and less time presenting! A good way to get your feet wet.

I particularly appreciate talks where people share things that they have found that help us do our work better- latest technology, modifications they have made to equipment, etc.

Think about some different things you do that might help others do their job.
