Our practice is looking to place a new non-myd camera in one of our satellite offices. We are searching for something user friendly without sacrificing quality imaging. We have used Topcon and are pleased with their camera and system , but I am also interested in researching other manufacturers for a new smaller system.

We are getting ready to have demos on a few cameras. The Topcon TRC- NW8, Canon CR-2 , Canon CX-1 Myd/non- Myd Hybrid (FA capabilities), Nidek AFC - 330, and Zeiss Visucam NM Pro.

I would appreciate any feedback it if you have had good or bad experience with these cameras and their systems.

Much appreciated- Ruth Kauffman

We have a Canon CR-1 Mark II. It is easy to use. We have a technically challenged tech here that does fine with this camera. We image patient's after they are dilated and get good quality images. We also get good stereo. One issue with the camera is that the external fixation target it optional and must be ordered along with the camera even though all the sales pictures shows it with the camera. We use our camera with our Symphony Web with no problems.

I realize this is a delayed response, and you likely have purchased your nonmyd, but I recently stared using the Nidek, and I have to say the image quality is pretty darn good.Surprisingly nice, for a nonmyd. My biggest criticism is that there is only a 35 degree field. Unsure of cost.

I would definately check it out for new buyers.
