Dear Colleagues,

It's the perfect marriage! World class speakers coupled with a world class city. Throw in an inaugural collaboration with ASCRS and mix in a little Cherry Blossom festival and you have the perfect recipe for a great time. Mark your calendars for April 19-20, 2013 for two full days of exciting didactic presentations. The OPS program will be all day Friday and partial day Saturday at Hotel Kabuki. Attendees will shuttle over to the Moscone Center on Saturday afternoon for a joint ASCRS/OPS symposium. Attendance at the ASCRS meeting that afternoon will be included in your OPS registration. Also included is access to the ASCRS exhibits.

San Francisco is a city that needs little gift wrapping. April will be a fabulous time to take in such famous sites as the Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, Japantown, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz Island and so much more. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be ongoing right outside the front door of the Kabuki- how convenient is that! Friday night we'll host a social event and give you time to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones! So, mark your calendars and plan your trip to California for a great meeting here in the City by the Bay!

Check out the OPS website for more information: http://www.opsweb.org/?page=2013MidyearProgram

Denice Barsness, CRA, COMT, CDOS, FOPS General Chair
Debra Brown, COT, CRA Education Chair

The Kabuki is a great location. That's where ICOP was held back in 2006. I hope the Sushi bar with the floating boat/conveyor belt is still down the street. Little boatsof sushi/sashimi float by your seat and when you see something you like you just take it from the boat... only in Japantown!

The ASCRS symposium sounds great and it nice to have admission to the exhibit hall included. Attendees should take advantage of this and also see the OPS/ASCRS photo exhibit.

Sounds like a great program!

Jim,

Your comment about an upcoming report with photos prompted me to look back through my ICOP photos for anything I might have of the hotel & surroundings. Not a great pic, but this was the view out my window of the Kabuki showing the Japantown Peace Pagoda and I think that's Mt. Sutro/Twin Peaks in the background. I'll see what other SF photos I can dig up. Maybe we could start a little gallery...

Sarah,

Let me tell you - a LOT can happen in 6 years.... :-) but seriously - I really like that the meeting this year is combined with ASCRS. It's a unique opportunity to look into the latest in anterior segment and related imaging. I tend to save my education funds for the annual programs, but this is like getting 2 birds with one stone. Not to mention the bonus of being in such a wonderful city and at the time of the Apple Blossom Festival! Fabulous opportunity to learn and play....
