Rate? Ideally, we like/prefer 1cc per second. So, 5cc's in 5 seconds would be an ideal rate.

But in the real world we are typically in the 5-10 second range. Sometimes they get drawn out to 15-20 seconds depending on who is doing it.

Will also use 22 Insyte needles when the RN feels the need.

I encourage injections to be in the 6-8 second range (5cc).

For the small hand veins, I use 25 guage needle, and for medium - large veins, a 23 guage needle, and push 2.5 cc of 10% FA within 6-8 seconds using a 3 cc lure lock syringe.
