Hello all,

Im understanding Medicare's EHR insentive program is requireing certification for entering meaningful use data. COA, COT and MA's certainly qualify. Does anyone know if CRA is sufficiant certification for this as well?

Thank you for your time,

Thank you for your time,

Michele

Attached is a PDF document discussing this. The CMS ruling states that in addition to licensed personnel, "credentialed medical assistants" can also enter orders. To my knowledge, there is nothing that specifies COA, COT, CRA, COMT or any particular credential.

I've seen several interpretations of this wording as being favorable for credentialed/certified ophthalmic & paraoptometric personnel. Any way you look at it, it reinforces the value of certification.

Hope this helps.
