Dear Colleagues,

I'm sad to say that this year I need to stay home and mind the shop. However, as you meet and mingle with fellow imagers at the upcoming Annual Program, please keep in mind that the Nominating Committee is always on the lookout for members interested in becoming more involved. Whether this is you or whether you are merely aware of someone else who is looking to spread their professional wings, please direct any interested party to me at ldimmer@eanw.net or one of my fellow committee members - Tim Bennett or Lynn Roderick.

Thanks in advance, and have a rewarding and educational meeting next week.

Thanks Lydia. 2014 is an election year for the OPS and the Nominating Committee is actively seeking interested candidates for all three boards. The OPS relies heavily on member volunteers to produce the many programs and publications we offer. Volunteering for the OPS is a great way to advance your career and network with professional colleagues. Please consider contributing as an officer board member or committee member.

Both myself and Lynn Roderick will be in New Orleans if anyone wants to chat about potential board positions.

While in New Orleans, make sure to attend Get to Know Your Society on Saturday 11:15-12:15 and/or the OPS Membership Business Meeting on Sunday at 4:30. Both of these events are a great way to see what projects OPS boards and committees are working on and see how you might fit in.

If you won't be in New Orleans for the annual meeting, feel free to contact Lynn, Lydia or myself to see how you can get involved in YOUR society.

HI Rona

The BOC will have open seats and we are working to build a slate of candidates for consideration.

I know that members of the OPS Nominations committee have seen your post and that your interest has been noted.

I'm not sure exactly how that committee operates, but they will be contacting you.

If there are other people interested you can post your questions here or contact a member of the Nominations committee directly if there are things you'd like to discuss.

http://www.opsweb.org/?page=Committees

Stepping up can be daunting, especially if you aren't sure what the time/travel commitments might be for the various Boards and Committees. It nevers hurts to ask!

Good Luck to all who throw their hats in the ring!
