We just upgraded from the Cirrus 4000 OCT to the 5000. The device functions fine, but we have one giant problem... in our large, multi specialty clinic, we can not load the review software on the exam lanes pcs unless we make each pc an 'administrator' (a HUGE NO NO in our system's IT policy!).

Has anyone come across this issue and found a working way around it? I have been told that it is a known issue at Zeiss and they are working on a solution.... but.....

I'm looking for a glimmer of hope.

Gary,

Is it possible that your IT department sets that one program to run as administrator? That might solve your problem.

Gary,

Many large universities have the same policy. They usually can authorize the program to run as an admin. I've not run across any place that wanted to have it installed not being able to make it happen sometimes IT throws up roadblocks.

I'd be happy to get you in touch with Zeiss level 2 support if your IT needs them.

Mike

Thanks Mike, for your suggestions.

I was able to have this issue sent up to the level 2 support, thanks to our great regional Zeiss rep. Their answer was to suggest installing a third party program on the PC's to work around the problem. I have since passed that information onto my IT folks and they are checking to see if we can do that install.

Hopefully, Zeiss will attempt to rectify this issue at it's root cause, rather than suggest purchasing someone else's software in order to 'work around' the problem.

Happy to report the issue is taken care of.

Zeiss suggested a software patch (which our IT folks downloaded on all the PC's) and our problem has been solved!
