We all know how annoying the Airport shuttles are. On the arrival you end up getting an un-volunteered sightseeing tour via stops at countless other hotels than your own.

When it is time to go home, the shuttle insists on picking you up 3 hours before your departure and again you visit several more hotels before heading to the airport.

What if you could connect with other ICOP attendees at the airport and share a cab! If you like, post your arrival and departure time here and make arrangements with 1-2 others going in the same direction to meet up at the airport and travel together.

Here are my times:

Arrival: Wednesday 4/30 AA flight 1038 at 2:15 pm
Departure: Sunday 5/4 AA flight 1259 at 6:40 am

If I have to leave the hotel 3 hours before 6:40 am, I might as well not go to bed!! I definitely need a cab buddy for that morning.

Let me hear from you.

Kirsten

Kirsten Locke, VP OPS

Here is the link from Eaton Chelsea.

http://chelsea.eatonhotels.com/locate/chelsea-transportation.htm

TAXI info
Taxi is your easiest way but MOST expensive route.
Make sure you stand in the OFFICIAL taxi line. Dont go with anyone "pretending" to be a taxi driver. My husband almost got fooled by some guy who was "scoopiing" taxi patrons.

To reserve the shuttle to Eaton Chelsea
http://www.torontoairportexpress.com/reservation/portal.aspx?portal=eatonchelsea
around $42.00 return. You can buy single tickets if you want.

Immerse yourself in Toronto by taking the Toronto Transit Commission SUBWAY or "TTC" as we call it- $3.00 cash the website - you need exact change.

Buses or streetcars - You need a ticket, token, pass, transfer or exact cash on buses and streetcars - Operators do not sell fares or carry change.
Subway/RT- There is a collector booth located at every subway/RT station where you pay your fare, purchase tickets, tokens and passes (Downtown Express and GTA Weekly Pass as noted).

Take 192 Airport Rocket BUS, which connects at Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line.
At Kipling go downstairs to the subway. The train only goes one way- East at that stop. Take it to Yonge/Bloor Subway. You need to transfer and go SOUTH, or SOUTHBOUND to Dundas Station.
At Dundas station, you be in the middle of Toronto's version of Times Square (kinda). On Yonge, walk north a couple of short blocks to ELM Street. Eaton Chelsea's official address is 33 Gerrard but you can enter from ELM street which is closer. Go left on Elm (only goes one way at Yonge) and walk 100 yards or so. 5 min walk total from Dundas Station to Eaton Chelsea.

Less busy Subway route- take the 192 bus to Kipling- go east on Subway- Exit St George Station. Go South to St Patrick Station. This intersection is Dundas and University. Exit the North East corner, Hospital for Sick Children exit. Turn North (CN tower at your back) Walk North to ELM street. You will be at the corner of SickKids here. Go Right, East on Elm. Walk a few blocks to almost Yonge Street to Eaton Chelsea. Fewer people this way. Less Exciting Intro to Toronto, a bit more walking....but is easy and possibly fewer people.

IF YOU ARE LOST, dont be afraid to ask people. People will generally try to be helpful.

(please note...we are used to it up here..there is 15% taxes on everything...so when I quote the prices, it is often before tax)

My cell if you have questions...416-722-2775.
Cynthia
