The closet instrument that fits that description that I saw at ASCRS was a UBM unit from Sonamed/Escalon.

Can anyone give an opinion of the available units on the market, and ones you like, ones you don't?
We need to replace it with something asap, and I want to make the right purchase. We use it for A's and K's, and Bscans for RD/heme dx.
We have an Optos A/Bscan laptop,in another office, and its fine, but I'd like to know if there is anything out there better or more efficient.

Sonomed also has a tablet based unit called the Vue Pad. It can be configured for B-scan alone or combined with UBM. Both companies have very nice units. They are more expensive than the cheap 6K units, but you get so much better imaging and much better software with Accutome and Sonomed compared to the cheaper units. Sonomed also has a combined A&B unit called the E-Z Scan - very nice unit for doing biometry/IOL calcs and B-scans.

Quantel Medical also makes a small, portable B-scan unit, but is not a tablet per se, nor does it use a USB B-scan probe. But it is also a nice unit for it's size. I have no financial interest in any of the ultrasound companies. Hope this may be helpful. Best regards!
